Hi community,
I have read many articles, post, and so on to create my custom shape for a map.
The fileformat must be topoJSON and this tool (mapshaper) is really used full to convert many geo formats to topoJSON
My goal is to create a file with the 17 administrative provinces of Quebec. I have found the geo data on the official quebec website.
But, for a reason I don't understand, none of my region names are recognized in the shapes.
It's like if each shapes has no name.
What can I do? What I have to check or correct in my topoJSON file to be able to vizualise the colors into the shapes?
Thanks
Hi @Fred-Montreal ,
Pls test the steps like the below:
You can import your custom topojson file as a table and collect the values that way. Then you'll be able to use the key values in your visuals as well.
Once the above steps are done you should have your new geography table ready for use with your other table.
Below you'll find an example of when I import a similar topojson file for Dutch municipalities.

Hi,
Your approach is interesting but in this situation, I don't know how to load the data in the table to the map.
Here is the file with the geolocalisation of the Quebec district.
And here is the file with the Quebec district name.
In the first file I have latitude and longitude. How do you load them in a Power BI Map to vizualise the shape?
