Hi all,
I have added a custom column in Power BI desktop using the related function - using the exact same formula in Power Query returns an error but works by adding a new column in the table view.
Is there any way to have this new column visible in Power Query when I transform my data?
Thanks for your help 🙂
Hi @lukeh1995
Power query and "Data view" is different "environments".
They work in different ways and in different languages.
Power query uses M language, Data view DAX.
Power query is a kind of "back" environment so the changes that you make there apply to your "front", like the changes on a data source.
But as a data view is in the front sight, it can't affect the back, this is why you can't see on pq the changes that you made in the data view.
You can achieve a result of the related function by merging queries in power query.
