Cumulative sum not calculating correctly

Hi,

I'm trying to calculate a cumulative value of profit (win-stake) based on a very simple table and after reading a couple articles and seeing more or less the same formula working, I'm left puzzled by the issue with mine.

The table:

My measure:

Output:

Sorry, for some reason I was unable to insert pictures directly.

I'd appreciate any help!

  • mafaber use MAX(dimcalendar[date]) straight in the filter don't store in the variable, you need to know when and where to use variable, in this case, you cannot use variables.

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

  • mafaber filter context is not passed to the variables, so two variables your created Win and Stake, put those as separate measures, and then use it in your calculate function.

BTW, what was the reason you couldn't post the images, share the issue and we can raise the issue with the admin of the forum.

I did not know that about the variables, thanks! 🙂

But still not working, it's not affected by the date now.

      Measure:

      Output:

Date column is from the dim_calendar table, the rest is from the fact table.

[win sum] measure ([win_stake] is the same logic):

[win sum] measure ([win_stake] is the same logic):

  • mafaber to have cumulative we need some kind incremental stuff, datetime, or index. Which do I need to see in the data

I have a calendar table unique for date, isn't that it? And I have a relationship set up between the two date columns.
