Crossfiltering between visualisations not working for some rows

Hello hivemind

 

I have two table visualisation (vis1 and vis2)

vis 1 contains variables from a dataset formed by the merge of two datasets in power query, in which a single column is added to a larger dataset)


both vis 1 and vis2 have a shared variable 'referral id'

When I click on referral id in vis1, the same referral id is cross filtered in vis2
but some rows in vis1 don't do this- vis 2 is blank when the row in vis1 is clicked.

The problem extends to powerbiintegrations in power apps- the offending rows don't pass variables to the app

 

If I remove from vis1 the column that was added in the power query merge, this problem goes away.

I've tried replacing all blank values and errors in that column but it didn't help.


Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    If clicking on certain rows in vis1 doesn't cross-filter vis2 and the issue is resolved when removing the column added during the merge in Power Query, there might be an issue with the data in that column. Here are a few suggestions:

     

    1. Check for any discrepancies or inconsistencies in the data within the column that was added during the merge. Look for any differences or unexpected values that might be causing the cross-filtering issue. Ensure that the data type and format of the column align with the shared variable 'referral id' in vis2.

    2. Check if there are any null or blank values in the column added during the merge. These values might be causing the cross-filtering problem.

    3. Verify that the data types of the shared variable 'referral id' in both vis1 and vis2 are the same. If the data types don't match, the cross-filtering may not work as expected.

    4. Check if there are any column name clashes between the merged column and other columns in the dataset. If there are duplicate column names, it could lead to confusion and unexpected behavior.
