Creating connection in model - stuck

All my databases are now frozen with that legend. I do not know what to do. I have all my databases being shared on collaborated excel files and now none of them load. They are all stuck in the creating connection in model.

Please help.

Hi,@Shackwell .

I am glad to help you.
According to your description, your database is frozen.

Here is one of my guesses that you can refer to.
If you are using power BI desktop, the imported data source type is an Excel workbook and what is happening: the interface keeps getting stuck at " creating connection in model" during data loading.
You need to check the data in each Excel form in turn: manually refresh the data in the selected form by clicking "Refresh Data" in power BI desktop in turn.
Like this:
This type of refresh only refreshes the table you have selected and not the other tables (which helps to locate the problem quickly).

By performing the Refresh operation on each sheet one by one, it helps you determine which excel sheet has the problematic data so that you can modify the data later.
Here's a common possible scenario: the table has a very large number of blank columns (null values), you can either recopy the other valid data into a new excel file and import the newly created copy file, or just delete the blank columns and see if it works.

There are many other problems that cause getting stuck in the " creating connection in model" screen, the above example is just one of them.
Now I don't know the exact type of data source you are connecting to (are you using a relational database such as SQL Server or a local excel file), it would be helpful to solve the problem if you could provide me with the information.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,
Carson Jian,
