Hello,
I am trying to create a dynamic group for a sample dataset that has 2 columns i.e. "student name" and a measure "percentage %". We assume that the percentage is a measure whose values recalculate based on student's grades every month.
I want to create a group based on this table below in powerbi, where I can display the percentages of top 10 students and can show an average of percentage for rest of the students.
In summary, I am trying to create a dynamic group of top10students and others in powerbi, is this possible? I can move the top 10 students manually in a group but it wont work if the top 10 is dynamic and changes every month. I have reveiwed documentation and blogs but can't figure out. Kindly help.
Thanks.
@asad_brohi no idea what you are referring too? Your reply is not very clear and not sure what you are trying to say.

@asad_brohi let me tell you, doesn't matter how many tables you have, if your model doesn't have a date/calendar table (dimension) then there is something fundamentally wrong and not following the best practice. Full stop. Now choice is yours. Good luck!

Actually I already have those tables in my model, I am not sure how the dates and grouping concept connect. I believe expanding the data model with many smaller dimension tables 1 for every visual isnt the best approach. I was looking how "Group" would work in this case. I hope anyone else might be more knowlegeable with this concept. Thanks anyway.
@asad_brohi There are many blogs around this, check this one and tweak it as you see fit.

This blog asks to create a new table and relationship along with DAX measures, I already have too many tables in my data model. I need this grouping for 1 visual only (using grouping if possible), need a bit simpler solution.
