Creating Income State and Profit and Loss Analysis in Power BI

Does anyone have any experience creating these in Power BI? I have looked into using paginated reports as well as the Profitbase downloadable visual in Power BI but do not have any experience with this? Is there one that should work better over the other? My company is wanting me to input our entire board book into Power BI

Have a blessed day,

Andrew

Hi, @Godseyma

First of all, if you are new to Power BI and you want to create financial reports, I recommend you to download the official sample case PBIX file for report learning.

You can learn some common practices from these sample pbix files, such as how DAX expressions are written when implementing YTD, and how filters are set up when making them. Before implementing these steps, you need to get your data ready and make sure that it can be effectively utilized in your report. If you encounter the realization of YTD/QTD Income and other DAX will not write, I recommend you to read the following article:

I found the following article that matches your description, you can also read how the author designed his report when realizing the same requirement:

Through comprehensive learning, you will then determine the design process for your reports, as well as evaluate which of the paged reports and Power BI reports better meets your real-world needs.
