Hi All,
Not sure if this is possible but i have tried using index but not what i need.
To put it simple. i want to create a new column and give it a record number for each id. The record number will start from 0001 to 1300 if i have 1300 unique people.
So example of what i need:
| Person ID | Record Number |
| 12345 | 0001 |
| 46658 | 0002 |
| 1060 | 0003 |
| 17961 | 0004 |
| 154 | 0005 |
| 2165 | 0006 |
Any help is deeply appreciated

Hi @hpatel24779 ,
Your effects can be realized in Power Query.
First, create an index column starting at 1.
Then, create a custom column using the following formula.
Text.PadStart(Text.From([Index]), 4, “0”)
Delete the original index column.
The final visual effect is shown below:
The pbix file is attached.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.
