Create a Date Slicer with calculated fields starting at new reference date

I'm trying to make some price change comparisons in a dashboard where we have a starting month and show the price changes for the following 12 months based on the price in the first month shown. But I want to include a date slicer that will adjust the period and then recalculate the data based on the new minimum date in the filter.

This is rather simple in Tableau but seems to require a bit more work in Power BI. Has anyone done anything like this and if so how do I set it up? Are calculated fields even the way to go or is there another option?

Hi @johntravis667,

You can create powerful caluclated columns and measures to achieve the behaviour you describe.  If you provide some sample data we can help you get started.
