Copying reports from a pbix file to another one

Hi,
is it possible to copy reports from a pbix file to another one? How?

Thanks

Not yet, but at the recent Power BI World Tour, it was announced as being on their roadmap to allow copy/paste between PBIX files.  No indication as to exactly when.

Thanks for the tip on copy-paste online - have been using that with a lot of success, until I ran into bookmarks - these need to be done in Desktop, but it works.  However, after publishing again, I'm getting a "Something went wrong" error when trying to save the report.

  1. Anybody knows of a way around or perhaps can think of something I have missed, and
  2. Any news on when the copy-paste will be released in Desktop?

Thanks!

For the "Something went wrong" error I have faced that too. My workaround was save as "something else" then delete the orignal report and rename "something else" to the name of the orignal report. Very tedious I know. But a quick fix.

Hey Phil

Just checking in to see if this feature was made a part of any of the product releases?

Hey Phil,

Is there any update regarding this question?

@haditabani, @Anonymous, @Phil_Seamark,

Do you know why this topic is marked as SOLVED although is not?

Please let me know if there are any updates on this topic as still can't use this feature or it might be not that intuitive.

Kind regards.

Hi @remi,

This issue was resolved through:

https://powerbi.tips/2018/01/move-visuals-between-reports/

However this is not the most optimum solution, it is a decent work around to move visuals.

Hadi

hi @haditabani,

that is a good enough.

Thank you for getting back to me!

Have a very good day!
