Copy/import visuals from report A, B and C to report D without importing all the data

Hello all,

I've been trying to create a strategic report which is to use all sorts of data from existing reports.

I know about metrics, and we have tried it. But I don't like the visuals and the way it is so hard to correct data.

So what I wanted to do is basically create a report and pin/copy/clone/etc. the visuals of multiple other reports to this one to combine the data.

I do not want to import the data, just the visuals.

Is there any way to do this, like with pinning a visual to a dashboard?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @BeVries ,

Visuals from Power BI Desktop reports can be easily extracted and pasted into other reports.

Use the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut to copy a report visual. In another Power BI Desktop report, use Ctrl+V to paste the visual into another report.

You can copy visuals one at a time or all visuals on the page.

If the fields in your model are different, you'll see error messages and warnings on the visual about which fields don't exist. The error is similar to the one seen when deleting a field in a model that a visual is using.

To correct this error, replace the broken field with the field you want to use from the model in the report where the visual is pasted.

Thanks for your reply. I know about this option, but it is not exactly what I'm looking for.

The thing is: I need visuals from five to ten different reports, all with their own model.

So what I'm looking for, is a way to copy visuals from those reports, and place them on my new summarizing report. And that the visuals stay connected to their source model (from the report where I copied them from).

So basically like pinning a visual to a dashboard, but then in Power BI Desktop.

Or is there a way to add all the source models at once, without making my new report a monster?

Regards,

Edit: I don't intend to change the said visuals nor use any slicers on my summary report.

I create the visuals in their original report the way I want them to be/show and then I want them to show on my summary/strategic report.
