Copy and Paste of visuals in Power BI Desktop does not work anymore

I'm using Power BI Desktop 2.143.1378.0 64-bit (May 2025) from the Microsoft store.
The copy and paste functionality for visuals no longer works.

Whenever I press CTRL-C or use the "Copy" button, the "Paste" button activates, but when I navigate away from the copied visual to paste, the "Paste" button deactivates again.
I deactivated the on-object interaction, but it still doesn't work.

This all worked before.

Any help is appreciated?

Seems it was a glitch with the WebView engine. Now works again.

Some folks recently noticed when they have a Citrix VM window open, it prevents copy/paste from working in other places. Solved: Copy and paste not working on visuals in Power BI ... - Microsoft Fabric Community

Thanks for letting us know, this might have indeed been the issue as I have Citrix Workspace also installed and use it from time to time in paralllel.

I'm having the same issue in the June 2025 update. Version: 2.144.878.0 64-bit (June 2025).

I tried the store version and had the same issue. I notice that on install I get a prompt about allowing access to the clipboard. I hit allow, but it still doesn't allow me to paste visuals.

I did notice that if I spam control c and control v very quickly, it will sometimes let me paste, but of course this only works sometimes and not across report pages or reports.

I also tried disabling on-object interation, didn't help.

Edit: Well, a reboot + reinstall did fix it, how very strange.

And today it stopped working again.

Hi @trutz,

Mine also same version. Copy and Paste both shortcuts and buttons are working. Try to re-install the Power BI desktop application. Sometimes it fixes the issues.

Thanks,
