Hi,
We have a current fleet management system in place, within its own software there are RDL queries that are run against the SQL server to produce reports.
We would like to reproduce these reports inside of Power BI for a KPI Dashboard. I was wondering if there was a way to import or convert RDL queries to run in Power BI. Or do we need to manually re create the reports using DAX programming ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone else has any feedback regarding this?
Basically the queries are setup to define a bunch of temp tables to house the information/calculations carried out. Then carry out the calculations to then allow reporting of the results. Querying items such as spot time under a excavator and returning the calculated worst spot time, average spot time and best spot time etc.
Cheers
Bump for a response.
Cheers
@Anonymous ,
You may take a look at the post below.

Hi Sam,
That doesn't quite cover what I am after. Is there a process to process RDL's direct from Power BI Desktop (where I have the connection to the SQL server working) so I can run these at regular intervals to show data from specific periods?
The RDL's, some of them are quite complex/involve a lot of calculations and I was trying to avoid having to redo them all.
Those links seem to discuss connecting via the Power BI server and requiring different levels of access to the SQL reporting server. I am hoping there is some way to add or upload a current RDL file straight into PowerBI and have that run the report to be joined to a KPI dashboard page.
Cheers
