Can you share the measure definitions you're using?

Here are the DAX I am using -- I have tried wraping the LY New User in a SumX and have changed the date filter to single direction based on suggestions in the user forum, nothing worked yet

Sum New Users = SUM('Main Domain + Sub-domain Data (Filtered)'[New Users])

LY New Users = CALCULATE([Sum New Users],SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(dimDate[Date]))

Can you confirm the following?

  1. The relationship is between the two fields named [Date]
  2. These fields have Data Type set to Date (note, not Data Format - that is distinct from Data Type)
  3. There are no other filters applied in this report on dimDate
  4. The field dimDate[Date] spans the period from January 1 in the first year you have data to December 31 in the last year you have data with no gaps between dates

Thanks for giving me a hand... checked the below

Can you confirm the following?

  1. The relationship is between the two fields named [Date] Yes single direction
  2. These fields have Data Type set to Date (note, not Data Format - that is distinct from Data Type) Yes Data Type = Date
  3. There are no other filters applied in this report on dimDate = No filters on the report -- I did filter in the query to date>1/1/2015
  4. The field dimDate[Date] spans the period from January 1 in the first year you have data to December 31 in the last year you have data with no gaps between dates = Yes double checked this.

This is perplexing. Typically one of those is the culprit. Any chance you could share your .pbix file (hosted on OneDrive or similar)? Or, could you prepare a sample wherein you can reproduce this issue that you could share?

Thank you for your help, looks like I can resolve the issue if I clear my date filter on the data query before loading the table to my data model as well as to turn off my Total Column on the table.  Maybe this will help someone else in the future.  Thanks again.

Can you post a screenshot of your working output table? I have some thoughts now that I hear how you fixed it, and I'd like to see what that looks like.
