Connection to dataverse extremely slow

When connecting to Dynamics 365 Dataverse datasources it takes forever to load. Is there anyway to make this faster?

For me the same issue.

With 80mb per Table its not really a Big Data Solution.

And with Direct Query I can wait long time for visuals also..

We need a larger limit immediately!

Hi Evelyn,

No unfotunately i dont get improvement with the legacy connector. I tried the TDS example but I dont seem to get the option to connect to it as an SQL Server, when I used the template it only configure the dataverse datasource, has that functionality been removed?

Hi @dcorentin ,

Usually this is because the data is too large.

According to this blog, Dataverse connector is the latest one offered (I am going to use it for this blog) The limitation here is that the size of the dataset is limited to 80MB. If your needs are more than 80 MB (which is quite obvious when using large datasets) use the CDS legacy connector. I am hoping that the Dataverse connector allows larger datasets in the near future.

I believe you can get more hints from these official documents:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/dataverse#limitations-and-issues

I am curious if the 80Mb limit still applied to Dataverse Connector.  I see reference in this article that leads me to believe the hard limit no longer applies.  Rather, a 5 minute time-out is the limitation.  Is that correct?

For what it is worth, the connector documentation still references the 80Mb limit, so I am uncertain.
