Hi,
I have one fact table with two columns, ID_1 and ID_2, that I want to connect to the same dimensional table (and key). The values in column ID_1 and ID_2 are identical. I'm searching for a way to filter the measures in my field parameter (that are based upon this fact table) with a slicer. So, if a record contains a value for ID_1 or ID_2, I want to include this record in the calculation of my measure in my field parameter (if the value in ID_1 or ID_2 is the same as the value I selected within my slicer).
I've tried creating two dimension tables, or connecting both ID columns to the dimensional table through an inactive relationship. Both options didn't work for my situation (or I did it wrong).
What would be the best approach to do the above?

Hi,
Thank you both for your quick response. I tried to add the links to the message but it did not work. I can share a direct link to my one drive account, but then you can see the company that I work for. It is desired to keep that private.
Hi,
Thank you both for your quick responses. I've added a link to the dimension, fact, and power BI example dashboard in this message. What I want is to filter the performance_processes 1-3 as displayed in the image below with dim_ID, which has two columns in the fact table. The measures for the performance processes are grouped within a field parameter. In my original dashboard, I want to be able to switch between different groups of measures. If you have any questions and need additional information, feel free to contact me.

Hi @GijsBI ,
Thank you for sharing the Power BI (.pbix) file earlier. However, when I tried accessing it via the OneDrive link, I encountered an error stating that I might not have permission to view the item (please see the attached screenshot for reference).
Could you kindly re-share the file with the correct permissions so that it can be accessed without any restrictions?
For reference, please see the thread below where another user shared a file via a public link, allowing anyone to download it without requiring special access or permissions.
Thank you for your support.

Hi Lakshmi,
I tried to share the link but my company does not allow to share links outside the organization without specifying who I sent the file too. I thought I deleted the message with the above links, since it referred to my organization's sharepoint which you don't have access too.
Hi both,
Thank you for your responses. I've created a power BI example file and included the dim and fact data in Excel exports to this message. I've also added a screenshot, where we see the dim_id that I want to use to filter the performance processes 1-3 which are grouped in a field parameter. Please let me know if there's anything else you will need to help me with this problem :). Dim data Fact data Example dashboard
Hi @GijsBI ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Thanks for your prompt response
To better understand the issue and build the appropriate logic, it would be very helpful if you could share some sample data that fully represents the problem or question you're referring to.
Kindly ensure the data is
In a usable format (e.g., Excel or CSV), rather than a screenshot
Free of any sensitive or unrelated information
Looking forward to your response.

@GijsBI Sample data would really help. I am thinking that you likely need a Complex Selector and to keep your tables disconnected from one another entirely. The Complex Selector - Microsoft Fabric Community
