Connecting to a shared excel file in onedrive for business To PowerBI Desktop

Hi ,

I encountered problem while trying to get data from a excel file in  onedrive for which I have permission to view and edit.

Whereas the owner who uploaded the file was able to connect to power BI Desktop Using the same steps below, and was also able to connect the excel file to PowerBI template file with no error.

StepS Followed:

1.Get Data ->Web

URL:

https://*******my.sharepoint.com/personal/**********_onmicrosoft_com/Documents/Document/Uni/Master%20Excel.xlsx

Error:

Unable To Connect

We encountered an error while trying to connect

Details: "SharePoint: Request failed: https://********my.sharepoint.com/personal/**********_onmicrosoft_com/Documents/Document/Uni/Master Excel_xlsx/_api/contextinfo"

Any Help Appreciated,Kindly suggest your thoughts on this.

Many Thanks,

V

@Vidhyashakthi12,

Does this excel file stored on Onedrive for business or SharePoint site?  From your URL and error message, it seems that you get data from sharepoint site. Please ensure that you have corresponding permission to this excel file. Please refer to the link below to see the details.
