Hi
I started to check the PowerBI Datamart.
I was wondering if I can connect from Power BI Desktop to PowerBI datamart?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey @Anonymous ,
when you create a Power BI datamart, there is also a dataset created with the same name as the datamart.
With Power BI desktop you can connect to that dataset with the connector for Power BI datasets:
or:
From then on it's identical to a connection to any other Power BI dataset.
If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution ✔️ and give it a thumbs up 👍

For me it is more interesting to connect to the datamart using the sql server connector.
the name of the server is the connection string that appears here
that way you will be able to take advantage of any of the datamart tables and add them to your model.
If you connect to the dataset you can only use data from that dataset and that can be frustrating.
I hope you serve the recommendation!
Best regards

You didn't specify which part of the datamart you wanted to connect to. You can either connect to the Direct Query dataset as explained by @selimovd above, or to the SQL database via its connection string.
