I have multiple Microsoft Projects saved in Sharepoint online. (This is not the same as Project online).
I want to connect them all into one Power BI dashboard. Is there a way to connect them? When I tried to connect using Sharepoint on Power BI, it did not connect the projects. There is no option on Power BI to connect a Microsoft Project file, that I can find.
I also have different project files saved on my desktop and will need to be able to upload those as well. Currently I am not finding a way to do this.

Hi @emilyh1 ,
1. Currently, Power BI does not directly support connecting to Microsoft Project files (.mpp) stored in SharePoint Online. However, you can take advantage of Project Web App for Project Online, which integrates with Power BI through the Microsoft Project Web App template. This method requires managing Microsoft Project files in Project Online. You can search for Microsoft Project Web App and choose to install. For detailed information, please refer to the document: Connect to Project Online with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.
While Microsoft provides native integration between Power BI and Project Web App, Microsoft does not support using Project Desktop and MPP (Microsoft Project Files) as a source for Power BI Desktop. However, you can integrate Project Server and Power BI by using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) drivers and third-party tools to establish a direct connection. Use OData in Power BI Desktop to connect to Project Online. For details, please refer to the document: Project Online: connect to data through Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.
In addition, this link describes in detail how to use Power BI Desktop to connect Project data. I hope it will inspire you. Use Power BI Desktop to connect with your Project data - Microsoft Support.
2. Power BI Desktop does not support direct import of MS Project files. You can try to use the mpp viewer to export the mpp file to an Excel worksheet, and then import the translated csv/excel file into Power BI Desktop. You can use the data to create a report and then publish it. Report to Power BI Service.
If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
