Hi everyone! I need help on the my models as follows:
The (Order Table) identifier is PO #. However in a tabular set-up it is repetitive due to 1 PO # having multiple order Items. I want to relate it with my (Accounting) table, again 1 PO# will have multiple accounting entry.
My end goal is to create visuals based on the Accounting table and the details on the Order table will be my drillthrough.
I hope you can help me. Sorry for the messy tables, i havent cleaned them yet.
Hi, @jmcph
Cross filtering both directions works well for a star schema like below.
If you have a table pattern as below with loops, then cross filtering can create an ambiguous set of relationships. For instance, if you sum up a field from TableX and then choose to filter by a field on TableY, then it’s not clear how the filter should travel, through the top table or the bottom table.
If you want to relate 'Order' with 'Accounting' table, it will create an ambiguous set of relationships. For further information, please refer to the document .
Best Regards
Allan
