Connected Scatterplot (Boundaries and Behaviours)

Hi there,

I'm pretty new to Power BI and would like to build a "Boundaries and Behaviours chart".  That is basically looks like a connected scatterplot (data set #1) with fixed x & y constant lines together and a centre point (data set #2) to illustrate the evolution of x & y data point in time and the tendency towards or against the centre point during the period of time.

In Power BI desktop, there is scatterplot under standard visualizations but unable to (or I don't know how to) build the connected line (like what can be done in excel).

So I barely did that in another way by transforming the data to become a sequence of events and followed by plotting the data by using line chart.

So the chart then look pretty close to a connected scatterplot with a set of lines but then become another issue unable to be solved so far - the data colors:

From the format menu, the Data Colors are automatically assigned into a set of colours for each of the lines but no way to force them into the same color.

So, may I ask...

1. what is the better way to build a connected scatterplot with constant lines in both x and y-axis?

2. if my current approach is fine, then how to force all the data colors to be the same?

3. lastly, how to add another set of data as a centre point (which contain a single row of value) on the same graph?

Thanks and much appreciated!

Note:

I did look for the customized connected scatterplot template (like this: URL) which is almost perfect solution but which is unable to add constant line and not able to add another data set value as centre point.

Hi,  @ric_ec

I am sorry that I have not come across this visual before. Perhaps R / Python can write a similar visual , you can  open a support ticket to consult with the Microsoft team.
