Connect to https://api.powerbi.com from Power BI Desktop

I'm trying to connect to the Power BI rest api from Power BI desktop using the Web connector.  Is this possible?  The problem I have is getting authorisation.  I tried using Basic access with a Service principle (to avoid mfa issues) but no luck.  Is this possible?

Use the existing custom connector.  It is based on AAD auth.
