Connect Excel Sheet (not Google Sheet) from a Google Drive to Power BI as Data Source

Hi

I have an .xlsx file in my team's Google Drive that I'd like to use as data source for a Power BI dashboard. I have tried the Google Sheets connector and Web connector but both do not seem to work.

Any trick to do this? We use solely Excel and Google Sheets is not suitable for our work.

Thanks, worked like a charm.

In my case the link was something like

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/xxxxxxxGoogleDocIDxxxxxx/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=111122334455&r...

I've changed to

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/xxxxxxxGoogleDocIDxxxxxx/export?format=xlsx

and was able to export the data from it to PowerBI online

You might try using the Power BI "Get Data" feature with the "Web" option, but this time, use the shareable link of the .xlsx file from Google Drive. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Open your Google Drive and find the .xlsx file.
Right-click the file and choose "Get a link."
Set the link sharing to "Anyone with the link."

@Medmbchr As per my experience, if you upload an excel sheet to Google drive, it can be opened as a Google sheet.

I tried importing through the web and it works fine. If you can share the error message or trouble you see while importing the data it will give some light to solve your problem.

Not on my laptop now but when I copy the direct Web link to my excel Sheet opened using Google sheets, it gives me some html tables and a web preview.

Could you share your method ?
