Dear PowerBI community,
I see that within my company, there a a lot of PowerBI initiatives. Some of the dashboards created in my department are slightly related to each other. However, they have different owners.
From the management, there is a question if we can not combine the different dashboards. I can imagine from a user perspective that this is preferred.
However, for maintenance purposes I foresee a lot of issues when working in the samen pbx file (in OneDrive/Sharepoint). We will need to work with a check-in/out system I assume.
What would we a reasonable way forward? I was also considering to make one entry dashboard that holds links to open the other dashboards. Then we can keep the ownership an maintenance at the original developers. Developments will then not interfere others.
Best,
Doeke

Hello @ddorhout ,
what i would suggest is that put them all in one workspace and then create an app for this workspace where you include all the reports and in the app they will show all together without having them all in one power bi file.

Hi, @ddorhout
you use the cross-report drill through feature in Power BI. also you can import datasets from multiple PBIX file into a single one and consolidate it in a single report. And f you want to keep the ownership and maintenance at the original developers, creating an entry dashboard that holds links to open the other dashboards can be a good option. this way other report developers won't interfere with each others data.
