There are datasets that are used by people on my team from the OneLake data hub. I need to combine some data from a database for a visual I am making with a dataset in the OneLake data hub. If I create a relationship to the data in OneLake, will that modify the dataset in the OneLake data hub or will the relationship only exist in my workspace?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @egb ,
According to the document, the OneLake data hub provides information about the data items and entry points for working with them. It does not store the data itself, but rather references the data stored in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2. Therefore, if you create a relationship to the data in OneLake, it will not modify the dataset in the OneLake data hub or in ADLS Gen2. The relationship will only exist in your workspace and will not affect other users who access the same data item. You can use the Lakehouse Connector in Power BI Desktop to connect to the data items in OneLake and create visuals with them.
