I'm a professor at CUNY in New York, the city university of New York. For several months, I've been trying to get the "free" version of Microsoft power BI to give my students a taste. The Microsoft website put me in endless loops - I've tried the dozens of times. The one phone call returned told me they couldn't help and to talk to my college tech-support. The college tech-support people simly say we don't have the license. I'm stranded.
To whom can speak at Microsoft to help me here? Right now I'm just doing a Tableau demo and I really want to show them Power BI. I'm stuck in an administrative nightmare.

It is pretty simple,
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494
Or there is some internal blocking of this page ?
For anyone it is quite straightforward, it may be your college security blockage ?

I'm on a Mac. I should have made that clear.
Yes. The good news is you can still run Power Bi on your Mac. There are a couple of ways you can do this.
Since Power BI can't run on a Mac, here are our recommendations for running Power BI on Macintosh Devices.

@kennethabbott60 The best way to install Power BI Desktop is to use the Windows Store. Click on the Windows Store icon and type "Power BI Desktop" into search and then install it. Make sure it is Power BI Desktop and not the Power BI app. The Desktop is free and you don't have to sign in to the desktop to use it.
In the Service (powerbi.com) you should be able to sign in with your school email address if it is also used for Office 365. In theory, if there is no Power BI tenant provisioned it should provision one for you and set everything up. You would use this link:
I cannot install from the destop website. The button is greyed out (it says "Get In Store App").
Microsoft apears to have put a very complex set of controls around it. Is there a number at MS I can call?
@kennethabbott60 On this page, the Download link should open the Microsoft Store to the correct app to download. Downloads | Microsoft Power BI
If you click Advanced download options, it should take you to this page: Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center and you can download without going through the store.
Just to confirm, you are not on a Mac or Android tablet are you? Desktop is only available on Windows computers.
I'm on a Mac, as are most of my students. I feel like Microsoft does not want me to have this. I've been trying for months and I constantly face hurdles. Should I give up?
I hope this was good enough to close this thread ?
