I have a PowerBI dashboard connected to a third-party database through an API. I started using it in 2023 and have data dating back to the beginning. I want to now change the date range for the dataset. Although I've changed my queries to exclude 2023 data, when I refresh, I still have 2023 data showing in my dashboard. How can I clear out the old data?
I've tried clearing the data cache to no avail.
Hi @SimplyABA ,
To clear out old data from your Power BI dataset and ensure only the desired date range appears, follow these steps:
Remove 2023 Data in Query Editor:
Clear Data Cache:
Ensure Data Model Refresh:
Check for Stale Data:
By following these steps, you should be able to remove the unwanted 2023 data and only show the new date range. If the issue persists, verify the query changes are being properly saved and applied during the refresh.
Please mark this as solution if it helps you. Appreciate Kudos.
Thank you for your quick response. I'm stuck at step 3 above. I don't seem to have a "Clear Data" option available under the Modeling tab. Is this where I should see it?
