Clear all slicer affects the visual filter
Hi ,
I have a clear all filter button which I need to function only upon the slicers and not on the visual level filters of table /matrix visual
Now I know that edit interactions doesnt work on the table/matrix visual but how can we stop the clear all filter button to filter the table/matrix visual
Hi Anonymous
create a bookmark with all slicers reset (to their default state)
Ensure your matrix/table visual already has its visual-level filters set (those are not affected by bookmarks).
Create a button that triggers this bookmark.
This way, only the slicers are reset, and your matrix/table retains its visual-level filters.

Go to the "View" tab and open the "Bookmarks" pane.
Click "Add" to create a new bookmark and name it (e.g., "DefaultState").
Add a Button:Go to the "Insert" tab and add a button (e.g., a blank button).
Label the button as "Clear All Filters".

If you want to use clear all filter button such that it works only on slicers and doesn't affect visual level filters , you can use bookmarks that only reset slicers.
To create a "Clear All Filters" button that only resets slicers, first apply visual-level filters to your table/matrix visuals. Then, set all slicers to their default (cleared) state and create a bookmark with Data checked, but Display and Current Page unchecked. Ensure no visual-level filters are changed during this step. Finally, add a button and set its action to trigger the created bookmark. This way, only slicers are reset while table filters remain unaffected.
You can also use Dax measures for slicer selections.
If you found this solution helpful, give a thumbs up. - SonalikaRegular Visitor
Anonymous Since you want the clear all filter button to only work on slicers and not affect the visual level filters ,you can use bookmarks .
To create a "Clear All Filters" button that only resets slicers, first apply visual-level filters to your table/matrix visuals and leave them untouched.
You can also use DAX expressions to create custom logic for slicer selections , instead of applying visual-level filters directly to tables.
Hope this helps !!! 😊 - powerbidev123
