Cin7 API Plugin

Hi, anyone successfully managed to directly connect Cin7 to PowerBI? Without having to buy a connector?

Connecting to Cin7 API using the Power BI Web Connector (REST API)

This is the most straightforward method to bring Cin7 data directly into Power BI.
You can use Cin7’s REST API to retrieve data in JSON format.

Generate API credentials

You need to Log in to Cin7 with an administrator account.
Navigate to Settings → Integrations & API,
then create a new API key.

This will provide you with a username (API key) and a password (API secret), which are required for authentication.

Set up the connection in Power BI
Open Power BI Desktop and select Get Data → Web. Choose the Advanced option so you can enter the API endpoint for the specific data you need, such as Pay Orders or Products Date.

Configure authentication

When prompted, select Basic authentication. Enter the API key as the username and the API secret as the password.

Refresh and scheduling

After validating the report, publish the PBIX file to the Power BI Service.
Since Cin7 exposes a REST-based API, scheduled refreshes can be handled directly through the Power BI Service without requiring any data gateway.
