Character length

My database has an input field that holds well over 100 characters, however when I query a table that data column get only the first 8 characters. Is there a way to specify the amount of characters ...

aduncan what is your data soure? I never see that query pulls only a few characters?  Are you pulling directly from table or view? Any other way you can check that column contains value more than 8 characters?

Data is pulling using ODBC from a database. The frontend of the database provides a paragraph field for data entry. Yes the full paragraph of text is visiable with the database table, however once the table is loading into Power BI only 8 characters are available.

    aduncan did you used any other tool except Power BI to connect using ODBC and see what kind of result you are getting.  It is not clear if that ODBC driver is not giving the full data or Power BI is translating it something different, so testing with other tools can provide some insight.

      Data table is small, less than 5000 rows, no warnings
