Changing data source

Hi there I recently created a dashboard on Power BI desktop and used a local excel workbook as the data source. However i would like to change the data source from the local file to one drive now as it is much easier to update from one drive. I did some research and saw that you can change it based on URL. However i am only getting local file as option. Is there any workaround for this?

For example:

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

@sorathecat

I would like to just you can do it from the below path.

1. Power Bi Desktop >> Open the PBIX file >> Home >> Edit Queries >> Edit Queries >> Delete the existing tables by right click.

Edit Queries-DS Change.JPG

2. Click on "Home >> New source" and use the web connector and paste the onedrive excel file link.

Please refer the link for reference.

Note:- Don't remove the visuals. once the above process done, Visuals will be referred the columns from the same tables only.

If you have any concerns, please let us know.
