Change the line color in line and stacked column chart

Hello All,

I have a line and stacked column chart and I am showing sales in bar and profit in line.

Now I need to show the color as red for line if profit < 10000 and green profit > 10000.

But I dont see any option to highlight the line.

Could any one please help how to do

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my test, I'm afraid that the line color of the stacked and line chart is only, what we can do is just change the only color in Data colors option. However, if you want to show the color of positive value as red and negative value as green, I prefer you to use Waterfall chart to reflect.

Please refer:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-waterfall-charts

In addition, you can also submit this idea to https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas to help us improve power bi and make this feature coming sooner.

Hi @Anonymous ,

In the water fall chart can I get both sales and Profit.

As I need to show both of them in single chart and do the coloring for profit based on its values

@Anonymous , I doubt you can do that. Usually, in the case of only a line visual, we do conditional formatting on the bar and change it to line and we get a colored marker

Hello All,

Is there any workaround for this

There is one way of doing this, though it is not ideal.

Basically create 3 measures for profit:

Sum Profit

Profit >1000

Profit < 1000

Add all three to the stacked line chart and place the Sum profit as the top measure in the lines bucket. Then colour format the lines as you please.

Here is an example:
