Change date hierarchy language from German to English in existing report

Hello.
I would like to change the language in the date hierarchy section, the report was created with regional settings in German.
Currently I have changed the settings for PowerBI Desktop and for this report to:

Global settings:

Current File:

piotrgrendus87_1-1663927402020.png

but my date hierarchy is still in German language

Is it a way to solve this issue ?

Regards Piotr.

Hi @piotrgrendus87 ,

It depends on the language of the model at the time of creation. This is also mentioned in the documentation.

You may consider using YEAR(),DAY(),FORMAT() functions to create calculated columns to replace the date hierarchy.

This is such a frustrating bug in PowerBI, somebody must have created this huge report years ago in Spanish and now the only way to change the language is to rebuild the entire thing from scratch, quite bizzare that PowerBI still doesnt support regionalisation like every other web and reporting application?

@piotrgrendus87 , Try this.

Uncheck the Auto date time intelligence at the file level. Save. Then again go back and enable that and save.

The setting is under file-> Options and Settings -> Options

I tried this method, but it did not help.
