I have a simple matrix visual displaying data with stepped layout set to off under row headers.
My problem is I can't seem to find away of setting the background color of i single column in the matrix because all the columns am displaying are placed unnder "Rows". I dont have any fields specified for "Columns" and "Values" and i have realised that fields placed under rows do not provide the condintional formating option which i could have played with some how.
If i use a table instead of a matrix, i get the field formating format option from where i can select a specific column and set its background color. Is there away i can archieve this with a matrix?

Hi @kadingo ,
You need to pay attention:
Conditional formatting applies only to the values of Table or Matrix visuals, and doesn't apply to any subtotals, grand totals, or the Total row.
Conditional formatting needs an aggregation or measure to be applied to the value.
So there is no conditional formatting option in your image, you could refer to desktop-conditional-table-formatting for details.

@kadingo , not very clear but these two should help

@amitchandak The links you provide are all pointing to the use of conditional formatting, but like i mentioned in my original post, for my matrix, i'm only specifying fields under the "Rows" well and on columns specified under Rows for a matrix, the option of conditional formating is not available.
See the only options i have in screenshot below.
