Change Date Format to MM/DD/YY

Hi,

In my Power Bi data model, I have all my Date columns in DD-MM-YYYY format and data type is Date.
My "Locale" settings is now set to "ENGLISH(United States)", but earlier it was English(India).
When I am trying to change the date format , I dont see MM/DD/YY format in the Format tab.

I tried to create a Calculated Culumn, but with DAX using "FORMAT" funtion that "Date" type is changing to "Text".

Effective_Date = FORMAT(DSTable[Date],"MM/DD/YY") --- This will convert a "Date" Datatype to "Text" DataType.

Please help how to get the date format as MM/DD/YY and data type as "date" inside Power BI Model.

Thanks in advance.

Tani

@amitchandak Hi Amit,

Thanks for the quick response.
I can able to change the date format to MM/DD/YY now. But It does not work for a Slicer. In a table visual, it is properly showing in MM/DD/YY format but in a slicer , It is still as dd-mm-yyyy format, not able to dispay it in proper format.

Thanks,

Tani

I have a similar issue, but it seems my date in the Power Query part shows as MM/DD/YYYY but in Power BI the date changes, the month and day values are swapped around anf in any formatting shows the MM as the DD value and DD as MM value.
