Cannot specify column name without aggregation

Hello,

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm trying to create a calculated column to assign a value based on column (HousesLastMilestone[Trade]) and column ('Builder Stages'[BuilderStageOrder]). However I am being forced to use an aggregate on BuilderStageOrder. What is the reason for this?

Hi, @Anonymous ;

What is the relationship between your two tables? As @Watsky  said, you can use related() if there is a one-to-many or one-to-one relationship, so can you share more information about both tables? Or share a simple file.

It makes it easier to give you a solution.

Hi @Anonymous,

The issue you likely have is that you are creating a calculated column inside the HousesLastMileStone table and because of that there isn't any row context that exists for builderStageOrder. So, Power BI doesn't know which row to look at for the builderStageOrder field. If you have both tables joined together try using RELATED for all of your builderStageOrder fields:

RELATED('Builder Stages'[builderStageOrder])
