I am attempting to edit a measure I added some time ago to a report. When I select it in the model view, the formula bar does not appear. The formula bar does appear for new measures I add, but not for existing ones. I can still see the measure properties though. I am editing a report and it's underlying data model using Direct Query mode, if that helps.
I searched the forums for similar issues and looks like The November 2023 release broke this functionality. But it's my understanding that it should have been fixed by now. Either way, I cannot find a download link for the October 2023 release to test. How can I bring up the formula bar for existing measures? Any help is appreciated.
PowerBI Desktop version: 2.137.1102.0 64-bit (October 2024)
Hi,
Thanks for the solution MFelix offered, and i want to offer some more information for user to refer to.
hello @pfranceschi , after testing, the formula bar can work well in my sample.
You can consider to roll back the version of Power BI Desktop to the September version. it may can work
Here is the link of downloading the September version.

Hi @pfranceschi ,
You are acessing your model from the Service correct, you do not have the access to the table data view on your power bi desktop correct?
When that happens you cannot edit the measures because they are a part of the model that is online and you need to access that semantic model, this ca be done going to the original Report on your desktop or using an external tool like tabular editor to access the semantic model online and making changes (you need to have XMLA turn on).
New measures can be added because they are consider report measures and you can do all you need.
