Cannot put data field in tooltips

Hi All,

I don't know why I cannot put the data field in tooltips. No matter what type of the data, I cannot just drag into the tooltips field.

Besides, there is no sigma on every data of my report. Not sure whether this is the reason. Hope anyone can help.

Hi @ST123,

Normally, you can use any field available in your dataset, to convey quick information and insights to users viewing your dashboards or reports. For more information, please refer to: Customizing tooltips in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Please try installing the latest version of Desktop and try again.

As for the question of “there is no sigma on every data of my report”, please check if your data type is a numeric type.

Best regards,

Yadong Fang

Hi @v-yadongf-msft,

I am not sure whether this is because I added some external tools like tabular table into the report. Since I tried simulated the same report, quering the same steps, and I load into the data model. It's ok for the report that I didn't add any tabular table. But for the report with issue, there is a tabular table there. So I am thinking whether this is the problem with the tabular table. If yes, how I can fix?

Some visuals only support legend or tooltip, but not both.

The Sigma is only and indication that you allowed aggregation on the column (for implicit measures)

If you have added calculation groups to the report, implicit measures are disabled by default. You can read about it in this thread:
