Tooltip issue
Hello all,
I have two visuals a Clustered Column Chart and a Line Chart and I would like them to show a tooltip with the same format, but somehow the Line Chart has a formatted tooltip with bold fonts. (It can be I set somewhere something, I just cannot find it.)
Could you please help me how to get the same tooltip for both? I would like to have the tooltip which is in picture 1 on the left.
Thank you for your help!
Peter
Hi pter14
You can use tooltip as a page option then you can make all your tooltip in the same format
I have attached the sample i have created for your reference

Hi pter14,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. Also, thanks to parry2k, for his inputs on this thread.
From what you described, the difference you are seeing between the Clustered Column Chart and the Line Chart tooltips is likely due to how each visual is configured to display its tooltip. In Power BI, tooltips can appear slightly different depending on whether the visual is: Using the default tooltip, using a report page tooltip, or displaying the newer modern visual tooltip (available under Report Settings).
The bold text you see in the Line Chart suggests that itβs using a different tooltip type (most likely a report page or modern tooltip), while your Column Chart is still using the classic/default tooltip. You can fix this by making sure both visuals use the same tooltip setup. Hereβs how you can check:
Select your Line Chart β open the Format pane β expand Tooltips. See whether Tooltip type is set to Default or a report page. If it points to a report page, switch it to Default to match the Column Chart. Also, go to File > Options and settings > Options > Current file > Report settings, and check if Modern visual tooltips is turned on. Try toggling this off (or on) so that both visuals use the same style. After doing this, the tooltip formatting (font weight, layout, etc.) should look consistent across both visuals. For detailed guidance, you can refer these Microsoft links:

3. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-visual-tooltips?tabs=desktop-newIf you would like the same tooltip design for both visuals, another good approach is to create one report page tooltip with your preferred font style and assign it to both visuals that ensures a consistent look.
Hope this clears it up. Please try the above and let us know if you have any doubts regarding this. We will be happy to help.

Hi v-kpoloju-msft ,
Thank you for your response. I checked the tooltips and indeed for the LineChart it was set to "Report page" - > "Auto", changed it to "Default" but unfortunately nothing happened, and also nothing happened with changing the (on/off) the mentioned setting. π- v-kpoloju-msftCommunity Support
Hi pter14,
Thank you for checking those settings and getting back with an update. I really appreciate the follow-up.
Since changing the tooltip type and toggling the Modern Tooltip option did not make a difference, this might be related to the visual rendering mode or theme formatting rather than the tooltip setting itself.
Check the visual style version: Select both visuals β open the Format pane β Visual section.
Confirm that both visuals use the same Visual style (either Classic or Modern). Power BI sometimes applies the modern layout automatically to Line Charts, which causes that bold font difference.
Check your theme settings: Go to View β Themes β Customize current theme β Text and make sure the tooltip font or weight isnβt customized differently.
Try recreating the Line Chart or toggling off any preview features under File β Options β Preview features (especially Modern visual tooltips and New visual container experience), then restart Power BI Desktop. If you still see the mismatch after this, please let us know which Power BI version you are using (from Help β About) that will help us narrow it down further, as some formatting updates were recently introduced in the Fabric version.
