Hi @huss2 ,

This error may be caused by one of the following reasons:

  • The Clickhouse Connector is not compatible with the Power BI service, as it is a third-party product that is still in beta version.
  • The Power BI service does not support some of the functions or syntax that you used in your query, such as arrayJoin, arrayElement, etc. You may need to modify your query to use only supported functions or syntax.
  • The Power BI service does not have the correct credentials or permissions to access the Clickhouse data source. You may need to check your data source settings and make sure you have entered the correct server, port, database, username, password, and options.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. As you mentioned, Power BI Cloud could not connect to our ClickHouse server. However, when I tried to use my personal gateway to establish a connection, I encountered an issue. Unlike the import method, where my personal gateway works fine, I can't even switch it on to add the gateway.

Do you have any suggestions, please?

Oh, so you did not share that Import Mode works ok and that Direct Query failed.  Always be wary of what appears to be an augmented response.  Please share if this was working, what you have tried, and where you are stuck.  How is the communication with Clickhouse coming?

Hello @huss2, and thank you for starting a conversation in the Desktop Forum.

As Clickhouse is a third-party product, it is recommended that you reach out to

Clickhouse for support on this issue.  You may try the Slack Channel, or raise

a Support Request as you see fit.
