I am adding an X-Axis Constant Line to my area chart. The line and value adds to the chart as expected but then when I try and rename the line from X-Axis Constant Line 1 to Kepler Mission - it doesn't change the value. Whats more, I have noticed that as I have added and removed new Constant Lines trying to resolve this, the lines have just stayed there and I can no longer remove them - they don't have values, so you cannot see them but they are still there and it makes me think this might be a bug.
I have cleared my cache, restarted computer, but no dice.
Step 1: Add the line with a value of 2009.
Step 2: Rename the line by double clicking the name and typing over. I clicked the check mark after typing this.
You will notice that nothing has changed.
When I turn the line on/off, the name changes back.
When I toggle the data label on and off, it just keeps the same constant line name.
Strange. Lets try deleting all the 4 lines by clicking the X next to it.
Ok, all the lines are now gone:
but when I click to hide and re-show the X-Axis Constant Line, they all appear again.
Any thoughts on what the issue is here? I tried creating a new Power BI Area chart with basic data and didn't have this issue.
I have tested this exact functionality on earlier versions and there is no issue.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this type of thing?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Update:
I ended up deleting the chart and remaking it and it resolved the issue. Probably should have done that before.
Leaving this comment here in the hope that it avoids temporary insanity for another 🙂
So that's It, Microsoft?
No solution, no help no nothing. Just submit the ticket. Isn't this kind of stuff obvious to you? There's a bunch of topics like that. I can't rename the god **bleep** line! The line keep reapering despite me deleting it. How did this pass any kind of user tests? What do you expect me to do? Write my own visual in R?

I have the same probem but creating a new chart is not resolving it
