Can we verify Incremental Refresh in Power Bi Desktop without any external tool ?

Hello,

I'm implementing incremental refresh for an SQL database and have taken the following steps:

  1. Imported data from SQL Server without passing any SQL query in the advanced options.

  2. Performed data transformation to meet requirements, ensuring query folding.

  3. Created RangeStart and RangeEnd parameters as Date/Time types, and applied these to filter the datetime column in the fact table.

  4. Applied an incremental refresh policy through the table's context menu ("Incremental Refresh").

Have I missed any steps?

Given I cannot use XMLA endpoints, ALM tools, any other external tool or publish the report, is there an alternative method to verify the incremental refresh's effectiveness under these constraints?

Thank you!

Hello @vikramkumawat ,

if you applied the incremental refresh on the table without giving any error then it's working, but to see the effectiveness of the incremental you should publish it to service.

Hello @Idrissshatila,

Thank you for your previous advice. However, I'm looking for a method to verify the effectiveness of the incremental refresh directly within Power BI Desktop, as publishing to the service isn't an option for me. Given the constraints of not using XMLA endpoints, ALM tools, or any external tools, is there a way to ensure that the incremental refresh policy is working as intended directly from the Power Bi desktop?

Thank you!
