Hi!
This morning, I clicked the refresh button and got this error message. "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send."
Due to this error, new data couldn't be fetched from Google Sheets.
The day before, I did set up a scheduled refresh.
Do you know if this scheduled refresh causes the issue at Power BI Desktop?
Since the scheduled refresh still works, I'm leaving it as is and not removing it but how can I get the Desktop's refresh data to work again?
Thank you in advance for any help/comments offered.

Thanks for your replies. However, I'm still facing the issue.
I proceeded to reinstall Microsoft Power BI Desktop and am facing another issue which I believe is related to the earlier problem.
Basically, I'm unable to sign in. After entering my email address and clicking on Continue, the pop-up disappears, but there isn't a pop-up requesting a password.
I tried installing Power BI Desktop on another laptop and tried to sign in without any problems.
Any ideas what could have caused the authentication pop-up to not kick in?
Thanks!
Hi @sfelwy2 ,
The following minimum requirements need to fulfilled when run Power BI Desktop in your computer or laptop, you can find more details in this official documentation. Please note that Power BI Desktop is no longer supported on Windows 7.
So please check whether the laptop which connect to Google sheet get failed has met the above requirements, and please confirm whether another laptop which can sign in normally can connect to Google sheet successfully in Power BI Desktop? Thank you.
Best Regards
@sfelwy2 , In the refresh page shown above, edit credentials and provide them again. Manually refresh and check once
Dear Amit,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, your suggestion works as it's within https://app.powerbi.com/
In fact, the Scheduled Refresh runs fine according to the refresh history.
The part I'm facing an issue with is from Power BI Desktop, screenshot error below.
Any idea why the data source connection to Google Sheets would return this error?
Thanks!
Hi @sfelwy2 ,
Please select the options File --> Options and settings--> Data source settings and edit the credentials of the data source. Later check if it can work...
