I have a DirectQuery model. One fact table, four dimension, very simple. All dimension tables have one-to-many relationship to the fact table.
I created aggregation table in the same data source. I defined the aggregation in the model. The aggregation has no relationship to any table. Everything was ok, till today.
I've just opened the definition of the aggregation in PBI Desktop and under the Sum column I see an error message: "Detail column cannot be aggregated to one or more Group By columns using strong relationship".
I can't change the aggregation, can't define the new one. The error is displayed after setting ANY (even first) group by column.
What's up?
I found temporary solution. You can create an aggregation in Tabular Editor with "Alternate Of" column property.
Everything then works, so it seems like Desktop bug.
HI @GregSt2,
I'm glad to hear you find the root casing about your question and share them here. I think they may help others who faced the similar issues.
