Hello all!
Im connected to a tabular model using analysis services and when create tables or matrices, it does not give me the option to change the data type in the modeling tab. Everything is grayed out.
My data in Visual Studios is formatted as whole numbers but when updated in Power BI, they have decimals. I've been working around it by creating measures and formatting the data type through there but I don't want to have to create duplicate field values and would just want to modify in Power BI.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@nosaj03 when you say the options are grayed out which options are grayed out? Can you screenshot it?

@Watsky cant send a screen shot but basically doesnt allow me to change the format. Its defaulted to the decimal number and I can't click the drop down to change it.
@nosaj03 is the data coming in as a live connection or import? If it's a live connection then that's the issue. You can't modify the format on a live connection.
You should be able to connect using Direct Query and the SQL Database connector.
