Can I place data points on trend axis on KPI card ?

Hi community,

I'm new here and also quite new to PBI.

My department was granted access to PBI and I'm trying to develop new report here.

I'm using KPI cards on two "front sheets" with monthly data on one sheet, and weekly data on second sheet.

I've decided to show trend axis with last 4 months of data. Here is my question, can I show data points on trend axis to support increase / decrease shown on the trend axis ? See picture below
Currently, it's confusing readers as they think that we went from 0% perf to 100% and then dropped to say 25% and then performance increased to say 50%.

This however is not true as last 4 months of perf was 99.49%, 99.83%, 99.57% and 99.66%.  So ideally, I was thinking to see soemthing like this

Is it possible to achievie this in PBI ?

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Damian

Hi @DamianF ,Yes, you can absolutely display the data points on the trend axis to improve clarity! Here’s how you can do it using a Line or Area chart in Power BI:

Steps to Show Data Labels: (*you can refer the image below)

  1. Select your visual (e.g., Area chart or Line chart used for trend).
  2. Go to the Visualizations pane and click on the Format (paint roller icon).
  3. Scroll down to the Data Labels section.
  4. Toggle Data Labels ON.

Hi @DamianF  - Adding data point labels to a KPI visual with a trend axis isn't natively supported in Power BI’s KPI visual.you can try with line chart to showcase the datapoints or custom visual like Card with States by OKViz please try.

Hope this helps.

rajendraongole1 tbh I couldn't find any related posts on google search to my issue, so I kind thought that what I am trying to achieve may not be possible in PBI.

Thanks for your advise but it looks like Card with States by OKViz isn't a solution to my problem. It's some premium features which may be suitable but this probably won't approved from budgeting side.

GrowthNatives thanks, I will look into this and decide if I really want to change my KPI card to area chart.
