Calendar Table Formatting Issue

Capture.PNG

I have created a calendar table as base to connect my other data to. I have done this beofre and have always been able to create a date hireacrchy off of the date field (i.e Year, Quarter, Month, Day) as a drill down feature for time series visuals. With this specific instance I am seeing a symbol next to my date field in this table that I do not recognize.  Using this field I am not able to create a traditional date hirearchy as I previously have before. My ask is:

1)What does this symbol indicate? (Date modeling tab confirms that this is a date data type)

2) How can I create a date hirearchy from here?

Hi ,

That symbol means that the table as been defined as a date table. What I believe is happening is that you have the time intelligence turn off on the options. Go to the options of the report and check if time inteigence option is turn on.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-auto-date-time

You can also create your own hierarchy dragging the columns on top of each other.

@MFelix Thank you for the suggestion and supporting documentation. Unfortunately, the time intelligence setting was already turned on, so I'm afraid that was not applicable. However, it was very helpful to now understand what that symbol means as it realates to our date table and we were able to create a hireacrchy manually with the drag and drop method you provided. Thanks!
