I am trying to calculate the minimum value per product group but am not getting the result I expect with my calculated column.
My data looks like the below, where I want the minimum value by Product. So for NPD00127 I would expect 8.56, for example. My calculated column looks like this:
Any ideas on why this isn't working?
Hi @Faye1901 ,
Did I answer your question? Please mark my reply as solution, thank you~
Hi @Faye1901 ,
According to my understanding, you want to calculate the difference between the minimum value and Fat per Product , right?
You could use the following formula:
Min Demod Capability =
CALCULATE (
MIN ( 'MinByCategory'[Fat] ),
ALLEXCEPT ( 'MinByCategory', 'MinByCategory'[Product] )
)Fat against Min Demond Cpacity =
[Fat] - [Min Demod Capability]My visualization looks like this:
Is the result what you want? If you have any questions, please upload some data samples and expected output.
Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.
Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin
@Faye1901 - Hard to be certain with what has been shared, but perhaps:
Measure =
VAR __Product = MAX('Table'[Product])
RETURN
MINX(FILTER(ALL('Table'),[Product] = __Product),[Fat])
If that is not it, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
HI @Faye1901
Can you try
Min Demod Capability = calculate(MIN('Samples'[Fat]), ALLEXCEPT('Samples', 'Samples'[Product]))
In your screenshot you have not selected the 'Samples'[Plant] column.
Same result unfortunately:
Note: Plant is selected in the filter pane, but take your point.
