Calculate weighted percentages using two tables

Hello everyone, I am new with PowerBI and have to use it for my internship.

I have two tables both with the column article_number. However some of these article numbers match but not all of them, I just need to work with the matching ones.

My current objective is to create a visual where I can see the total weight per material and weighted percentage of each material used for the articles in both columns. I do not know how to get to the weighted percentage combining the total weight of the product from one table with the percentage of each material from the other table

In this image you can see the easy percentage of each material from one table, but I need to combine this with the weight in the other table to get a weighted percentage

Here are the two tables I am using in which some of the article numbers match. The ones that dont match dont need to be used

Could someone please help me? Thanks in advance for your help

Hi @v-jiewu-msft ,

First of all thank you for your reply, when I tried to share the raw data in the text format the way you described my computer crashed, so I think the tables are too large.

I did manage to sort the two tables and match the columns for article number, these screenshots hopefully make the data in the tables more clear. One table lists the percentages and materials for each product_number and the other the total weight of each product_number. I need to combine these tables in order to find and visualize the total amount used of each material by dividing the weight of each product_number by the matching material percentages. Schermopname (245).pngSchermopname (246).png

Looking forward to your or anybody else's help.

Kind Regards

Hi @Anonymous ,

If I understand correctly, the issue is that you want to calculate percentages with two tables. In order to make a deep troubleshooting, could you please provide more raw data(exclude sensitive data) with Text format? It would be helpful to find out the solution.

You can refer the following links to share the required info:

How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum

Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards
