Calculate historical inventory value over time from current inventory value

I suppose you can do that from mechanical point of view by doing cumulative total backwards.  I am curious which ERP system you downloaded your inventory data from.  When I tried to do a similar analysis of valuated stock and quantity by stock locations using SAP data, the total didn't match with the account balance due to some movement codes not being taken into accounts in the standard SAP stock by location report.  I download the data from inception to today instead of working backwards from the current balance like you are trying to do.  So even though you maybe able to work backwards from the latest value and transaction movements, it is recommended to check if the calculated total of locations will agree back to the past reported inventory numbers.  For example, does your data properly account for the movement between different stock locations? When your stock move from one location (warehouse) to another location (warehouse), does your data ascribe value to that movement?
